A Tech Talk Program
Resident Ambassadors
Tech help, even between visits.
Tech Talk Resident Ambassadors are residents who are comfortable helping neighbors with simple technology questions when a Tech Talk volunteer is not on site.
Ambassadors are not expected to be technology experts. Their role is to be a friendly first point of contact: someone who can help with basic questions, share printed guides, and remind residents of simple safety steps before they click, download, or share information.
Ambassadors are not expected to be tech experts — just friendly neighbors with a few good resources to share.
How it works
Tech Talk provides training and reference materials so each ambassador feels prepared and supported. Materials may include:
- Step-by-step guides
- Safety reminders
- Common troubleshooting tips
- When to ask a staff member, family member, or Tech Talk volunteer for more help

What ambassadors can help with
Resident Ambassadors may help neighbors with everyday questions.
Good fits
- Texting
- FaceTime
- Photos
- Wi-Fi
- Accessibility settings
- App basics
- Knowing when something online does not feel right
Not for ambassadors
For privacy and safety, ambassadors should not help with:
- Banking
- Passwords
- Financial accounts
- Medical portals
- Anything involving private personal information
Why it helps
A Resident Ambassador program helps make Tech Talk more useful between volunteer visits. It encourages independence, builds confidence, and creates another opportunity for residents to connect with and support one another.
